Department for rehabilitation of patients after traumatic brain injury, with multiple sclerosis and other neurological disorders

The department offers rehabilitation to persons after traumatic brain injury, with progressive long-term neural disorders such as multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, persons with neuro-muscular disorders and some other rare disorders of the central nervous system.

The most frequent problems faced by patients include problems with mobility, feeling (sensations), cognitive abilities (memory, thinking, attention…), communication, emotional functioning, self-perception and increased fatigue. The team of professionals works with the patient to improve his or her mobility, skills for independent living, physical strength and endurance. Support and help are offered to the patient and relatives in understanding the disease and managing its consequences.

The goals of the rehabilitation include strengthening the impaired abilities, selecting suitable technical device, alleviating the progress in chronic diseases and increasing the patient's ability for active inclusion in the society (family, school, employment) in order to increase the patient's and his or her relatives' quality of life.
